Pepper

Pepper came to us looking like she was on death’s door. We were, to be completely honest, unsure if she was even going to live much longer when she first arrived. Even though she was seen by a vet before her arrival, when our vet saw her she was diagnosed with strangles. We immediately jumped into action to prevent the other horses from contracting this highly contagious disease. Slowly but surely, Pepper began to put on a healthy amount of weight and the wound healed nicely. Now, despite her arthritis in her front legs, she’s retired and enjoying her days with the love of her life, the one-eyed horse Preacher.
