Betty

She arrived to us named Beavis, but after laying an egg was renamed Betty, after the infamous animal lover Betty White. Betty suffered from a tragic accident where her wing was pulled through a fence by wild animals. She was rushed to the vet, and after a week they determined she should have the entire wing removed surgically. Since I’m an RN, and saw that she had viable, healthy tissue on the top part of her wing, I fought to save it. Now she has fully recovered with 1/2 of her left wing intact. This allowed her to have better balance and maneuverability. She now lives in a large protected enclosure with Daffy the Emu where animals cannot hurt her. She loves head pets, dried worms and sunflower seeds! With her little waddle, she eagerly runs to greet you & for some attention.
